Georgia was born in the 1960s in London and now lives in Edinburgh.
She has been a set and costume designer working both in the UK and internationally since 1994 when she trained on the Motley Theatre Design Course in London. She recently won the CATS award as part of the design/lighting team for Wils Wilson’s 2022 production of Life is a Dream.
Georgia originally studied History of Art, Design and Architecture and worked as a lecturer in Art History and Contextual Studies in art schools. She has been a visiting lecturer on the Performance Costume course at Edinburgh College of Art.
After eighteen years as a theatre designer she also trained to be a midwife, graduating in 2014, and is proud to have been working for NHS Scotland since then. Both occupations meet her need for creativity, curiosity and collaboration and her commitment to voices being heard.
In 2022 she returned to theatre design full time.
Georgia also makes textile work as a means of exploration and enquiry.
